Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing, Promotions, and Corporate Sponsorships Job Summary The person in this position will create and execute strategies to expand Intercollegiate Athletics Sponsorship revenue opportunities by identifying, assessing, and developing new business opportunities. The role will lead the integration of community and corporate partnerships to develop an outstanding gameday environment, coordinate plans to increase business and capture new prospects, and manage sales/revenue goals related to these markets. Responsibilities Responsible for pursuing, packaging, and cultivating corporate partnerships. Develop all in-game scripting, marketing, and promotions for all sports. Hire and manage marketing assistant positions and internship program. Represent the department on university, community, conference, and national committees. Work with communications to create department creative for sales, tickets, and branding. Identify corporate partner opportunities and establish relationships with key marketing and advertising decision-makers. Assist in ensuring all corporate sponsors are compliant with NCAA, CC, and UNCP rules regarding corporate partnerships and student‑athlete likeness. Develop robust sponsor packages that include inventory across multiple mediums, set appropriate value, and ensure fair market value is received. Ensure sponsor fulfillment for signage, in‑game inventory, and other web‑related signage. Consult Director of Athletics for all co‑branded content. Utilize Director of Athletics in the sales process as needed. Determine appropriate sponsor saturation across all mediums with consultation from the Director of Athletics. Work with external operations team to create department creative for sales, tickets, and branding. Work with Braves Club Executive Director on annual fundraiser initiatives (e.g., Back The Braves, Cash Bash) and distribution of season tickets. Serve as the primary point of contact for Affinity Licensing and merchandise revenue in partnership with the UNCP Bookstore (Follett). Lead a brand awareness campaign to extend into the local community. Perform other duties commensurate with experience and as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Qualifications Master’s degree in Business, Public Relations, Sports Administration, or a closely related field. At least two years of experience in higher education, nonprofit, professional sports, or corporate business settings. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Preferred experience in sales, fundraising, graphic design, advertising, marketing, promotions, and/or coaching. Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation.
