Make It Possible: Doula - Labor and Delivery (L&D) - Per-diem - Nights At NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, Doulas have created a supportive, compassionate environment for all phases of ante- through post-partum care. With over 5,000 births annually, we're the experienced and caring team families count on for successful outcomes. Mothers and babies start their journey here with expert nurses at their side and the finest resources at their command. Doulas would be responsible to provide emotional and physical support to the patient/family in all the stages of their labor, birth/postpartum process. The doula will work closely with the birthing team (midwives, nurses and physicians) to provide safe, high quality and culturally sensitive care to all patients giving birth at NYP\BMH. Preferred Criteria Experience in Childbirth education, labor support, or breastfeeding education and support Certified Lactation Counselor certification preferred Required Criteria High School Diploma or GED Doula certification and training from DONA International Basic computer literacy Ability to communicate effectively Excellent customer service skills Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
