Emergency Department

• ED Volume: 40,000
• 38 rooms
• Level II Trauma Center designation with full-time trauma services
• High acuity site with 35% of patient arrivals by EMS and 38% admission rate

• Full-service, 315-bed community hospital in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh
• Level II Trauma Center
• The modern, full-service hospital specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral sciences, oncology, emergency medicine, cardiology and diagnostic imaging
• All major specialties are represented including cardiology and surgical subspecialties
• Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Forbes Cardiology Diagnostic Center
• Dedicated EMS Physician Medical Director with EMS/Paramedic training programs and teaching options for other interested physicians; we provide medical command for 11 local EMS agencies
• Dedicated physician ultrasound director with a focus on continuous quality improvement and monthly learning sessions for our physician, APP, and ED nursing teams
• Radiology suite adjacent to ED which includes two CT scanners (256 and 128 slice) as well as MRI. MRI and Ultrasound are available 24 hours
• Advanced Cardiac Care program including interventional cardiac catheterization and open heart as well as EKOS and ECMO capability
• Joint Commission-certified as Level II Stroke Center with telemedicine affiliation with the Allegheny General Hospital
• Advanced CT imaging, 64-slice Siemens CT imaging device adjacent to the Emergency department
• 24-hour in-house Anesthesia, General Surgery, Hospitalist, OB/GYN, and Trauma Surgery physicians
• 36 bed inpatient adult psychiatric unit
