We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Safety Manager to lead the safety program for a major High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission construction project in San Jose, California. This role provides overall safety leadership, ensures compliance with Cal/OSHA Title 8, and manages safety performance across multiple subcontractors. The Project Safety Manager will serve as the primary safety authority on site, partnering with project leadership, field crews, and subcontractor teams to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
Salary range: $130-160k per year

Required: 8+ years of construction safety experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience managing multi-employer construction sites and subcontractor oversight. Demonstrated experience overseeing subcontractor safety performance. Professional safety credential (CHST, CSP, CUSP, OHST, etc.). Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project locations.
Preferred: HVDC, substation, or transmission line experience. First Aid/CPR/AED certification. CHST, CUSP, or other safety credential. Experience with cable pulling, grounding systems, or commissioning activities.
Outdoor construction environment with exposure to weather, noise, energized equipment, and heavy machinery. Requires walking, climbing, standing, use arms, hands, and legs fully; push, pull, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.
