Job Title: Saw Operator Catcher/Picker - 2nd shift M-Th 3:30pm-1am - $18-21/hr

Job Description

This role supports saw operations in an outdoor lumber yard by catching or picking and handling material as it is cut, assisting with machine operation, and performing general labor and shop duties. You will work on an afternoon to late-night shift and contribute directly to safe, efficient, and accurate lumber production.

Responsibilities

• Stand at the end of the outdoor saw machine to safely catch and handle lumber as it is cut.
• Perform general labor and shop help duties to support daily production needs.
• Assist the saw operator with operating the saw machine and related equipment.
• Lift, carry, and move heavy lumber and materials throughout the work area.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools as needed to support cutting and material handling.
• Measure materials using a tape measure to ensure accuracy and correct dimensions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in and around the saw station.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working around saws, tools, and heavy materials.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and timelines.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general labor or shop help duties in a physical work environment.
• Experience working as a machine operator, saw operator, or in a similar production role.
• Ability to safely lift and handle heavy materials for extended periods.
• Comfort working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately to check lengths and dimensions.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production or construction setting.
• Willingness to work an afternoon to late-night shift (approximately 3:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday).

Work Environment

This role is based in an outdoor lumber yard environment year-round, working around saws and other equipment used to cut lumber. The position follows an afternoon to late-night schedule, approximately 3:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The work is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and consistent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and saws in a production setting, and you will work closely with other team members in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
