About the Role:

As a Special Needs Paraprofessional at Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Join our dedicated team in Lawrenceville, GA, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children every day!

Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in implementing goals for students.
• Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs in classroom settings.
• Facilitate communication between students and peers to promote social skills.
• Monitor and document student progress and behavior throughout the day.
• Help with daily living skills and personal care as needed.
• Collaborate with educational staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of special education practices and IEP processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
• Certification as a paraprofessional (or willingness to obtain).
• Background check clearance as required by state regulations.
