Job Description

Build real pages for a real company - and leave your mark on our digital presence.

Who We Are

Austin Benefits Group is a leading employee benefits firm that partners with private and publicly traded companies to deliver smart, responsive benefit solutions. We're proud of our digital presence - and we're actively investing in making it better. This summer, we're bringing on a WordPress Web Development Intern to help us elevate our online experience for clients, prospects, and job seekers alike.

The Opportunity

This isn't a "watch and learn" internship. From week one, you'll be building, updating, and improving real pages on our live WordPress site. You'll work alongside our marketing and leadership teams to ensure our website accurately reflects who we are, what we do, and why clients and candidates choose Austin Benefits Group. If you're passionate about clean design, fast-loading pages, and code that actually works - this is your summer.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and update pages on the Austin Benefits Group WordPress website using page builders such as Elementor, Divi, or similar
  • Develop and maintain custom landing pages for job postings, campaigns, and service offerings
  • Optimize site performance - page speed, mobile responsiveness, SEO structure, and accessibility
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to translate brand guidelines and content into polished web experiences
  • Assist with plugin management, theme customization, and WordPress core updates
  • Troubleshoot and resolve site issues quickly - broken layouts, slow load times, form errors, and more
  • Create and maintain a clean, organized media library and content structure
  • Document your work clearly so updates are easy to maintain after the internship
  • Support community-facing web initiatives that reflect our commitment to giving back
What You Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with WordPress - building pages, working with themes, and managing plugins
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS at minimum; PHP or JavaScript knowledge is a strong plus
  • Experience with page builders such as Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, or similar
  • Eye for clean, professional design - you know what good looks like and you care about the details
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices and mobile-first design
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Bonus: Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or WordPress SEO plugins (Yoast, RankMath)
