Position Overview

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the people operations of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and HR project support. You will partner closely with site managers and leadership to build a high-performing, compliant, and engaged workforce.

What You'll Do

• Own full-cycle recruitment: write and update job descriptions, source candidates, screen resumes, conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, and lead new hire orientation
• Manage pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screenings, and I-9 verifications
• Handle employee relations matters including investigations, FMLA/CFRA administration, and day-to-day conflict resolution
• Support onboarding, performance evaluations, and personnel reviews alongside site managers and supervisors
• Coordinate with payroll and site managers on timesheet administration and payroll activities
• Maintain accurate employee files and HR documentation
• Monitor and ensure compliance with California and Federal employment law requirements
• Track and report HR metrics at the plant level
• Participate in employee engagement initiatives and contribute to broader HR projects

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense
• Hands-on full-cycle recruiting experience across all levels, from hourly production roles to senior leadership
• Strong working knowledge of California employment law: FMLA/CFRA, COBRA, EEO, ADA, FLSA, Workers' Compensation, and OSHA
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
• High degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail

Preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with CA State employment law

Additional Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, and reference check prior to start
• Occasional local travel and flexibility for weekend work may be required
• Ability to work in and around a manufacturing plant environment, including exposure to mechanical equipment, moderate noise levels, and safety gear requirements (safety glasses mandatory in plant areas)
