Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), a comprehensive healthcare provider in Upstate New York, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary oncology team to deliver safe, accurate, and patient-centered radiation treatments to individuals undergoing cancer care. You will be responsible for preparing patients and equipment for daily treatments, accurately positioning patients according to physician-approved treatment plans, operating linear accelerators and related radiation therapy equipment, and adhering to strict safety and quality assurance protocols. The Radiation Therapist will collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other care team members to verify treatment parameters, monitor patient responses, and promptly report any clinical or technical concerns. Documentation of treatments, setup details, imaging, and patient status will be completed in the electronic medical record and treatment management systems in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards. You will provide clear explanations of procedures, offer emotional support, and promote comfort and dignity for patients and their families throughout the course of treatment.
